Final Exam Senior Writing - Information and Resources for Review

Due Friday January 15- The following students should be prepared to deliver their speeches today:

Due Wednesday January 14- The following students should be prepared to deliver their speeches today: Jadan, Dwight, Kait, Frank, T.J., Jace, April, Lexi, Chris T


Due Tuesday January 13- Practice your speech to at least one person from outside of our class. This can be a parent, relative, sibling, peer who is able to give you feedback on the speech. After presenting your speech, ask the listener for feedback. Fill out the speech evaluation sheet with the feedback received. Make certain to record the listener's name and relationship on the sheet as well.

Due Monday January 12- Practice your speech at home. Bring a printed copy of your speech to class on Monday January 12th. On Monday during class, students will complete a semester review. To prepare, make certain to bring your notebook or folder with all assignments. Review all assigned work on this page. Review assignments on turnitin.com, Google Classroom and the Senior Writing wiki.



Due Friday January 9- Revise and perfect speech. Submit the revised speech to Google Classroom. Practice reading speech outloud. Bring a print copy of the revised speech. Bring the draft speech with the silent conference sheet.

Add to your list of specifics for your definition essay: What is quality education? What is a quality teacher?



Due Friday 11/21- Students who did not read "Go Carolina" must read it and write a response: How did David Sedaris' educational experience shape him as a person? What does Sedaris think of the eduction he received. All students should read "Superman and Me".

Due Tuesday 10/28- Finalize your letter of recommendation and your resume. Bring drafts, rubrics and final copy to class.



Due Monday 10/27- Perfect your resume. Print out the final copy. Attach the draft to the back of the final copy. Attach the rubric to the front of the final copy.

Write a letter of reference for the student assigned to you. Follow the guidelines on the assignment sheet and the Letter of Recommendation Page . Print the letter. Bring it to class on Monday with the student's resume.

Find three photos from three different periods in your life. Bring them to class on Wednesday. You may bring them on your phone.

  • You should have three entries. Do not make the third entry until you read the other entries. The third entry should be different from the others.
  • Remember include advice and information that will help your classmates understand what impresses college admissions officers.

Sam Rosensohn of College Planning Partnerships will lead a FREE 90-minute workshop onWriting the College Application Essay. Students to learn what college admission officers are looking to discover in an essay and tips to employ to stand out by being themselves. Sam will cover self-revelation, captivating openings, the element of surprise, time references, effective expression, direction and pace. After this workshop students will feel more confident when writing their essay
